Free, Premium and Slots

Runes is free. The card database, the rules hub, the game tracker, the scanner, deck building and collection tracking are all part of the free app. A free account can hold up to 5 decks, 3 binders and 3 wishlists.

Runes Premium

An optional subscription, available in the mobile app, that adds:

  • Unlimited decks, binders and wishlists
  • Price history tracking
  • Trade history
  • The playtest hand for every deck
  • Visual customization of your collection

Slots

If you would rather pay once than subscribe, slots raise your limits for good. Each slot lets you create one more deck, binder or wishlist.

  • A one-time purchase, with no recurring charge
  • Universal: use a slot for a deck, a binder or a wishlist, as you prefer
  • Permanent: deleting a deck, a binder or a wishlist frees its slot for a new one
  • You can buy more slots at any time

Made by a solo developer

Runes is built and maintained by an independent developer who plays and enjoys Riftbound. Premium and slots are what keep the project going: they pay for the servers and for the time spent on new features. Everything else stays free. Thank you for using Runes!

Frequently asked questions

Is Runes free?

Yes. Runes is free to download and use. A free account can hold up to 5 decks, 3 binders and 3 wishlists. To go further, an optional Premium subscription removes these limits, or you can buy slots once to raise them permanently.

What is a slot?

A slot is a permanent increase of your limits: each slot lets you create one more deck, binder or wishlist, whichever you choose. Slots are a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and they stay with your account. Premium subscribers do not need slots, since Premium is unlimited.

Who makes Runes?

Runes is built and maintained by a solo independent developer who plays Riftbound. Premium subscriptions and slot purchases support the servers and the future of the project.

Is Runes available on Android and iPhone?

Yes. Runes is available on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android. The card database and the community decks are also available in a web browser at runepage.app.

Does Runes enforce the official Riftbound deckbuilding rules?

Yes. The deck builder checks a deck against the official rules: one legend, a main deck of exactly 40 cards with at most 3 copies of a card, 3 different battlefields, 12 runes, and only cards that match the domains of the legend.

Can I scan my Riftbound cards?

Yes. The mobile app has a card scanner that recognises a card with your phone camera and adds it to your collection.

Can I build decks on the website?

Not at the moment. On the web, decks are view-only for now. Decks are built and edited in the mobile app.

Is Runes an official Riot Games app?

No. Runes is a fan project created under Riot Games' “Legal Jibber Jabber” policy, using assets owned by Riot Games. Riot Games does not endorse or sponsor this project.
